KIDS COUNT
Since 1994, MCA has published the Maine KIDS COUNT Data Book, a comprehensive report of the physical, social, economic and educational well-being of Maine children. Our goal is to provide data and information so lawmakers can make informed decisions on policies and practices that affect Maine kids. We also hope to empower YOU to be the best advocate for Maine kids!

In addition to Maine's KIDS COUNT Data Book, we encourage you to explore Maine and national data in the KIDS COUNT Data Center. This interactive, web-based dashboard provides up-to-date access to hundreds of measures of child well-being, including county level, Maine data for many indicators. MCA is a KIDS COUNT® grantee of the Annie E. Casey Foundation (AECF), which works with members from every state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to maintain the national KIDS COUNT Data Center. Each year, AECF produces the National KIDS COUNT Data Book, with state profiles (including Maine) ranking states across sixteen measures of child well-being. In 2024, they also produced the following report - Race for Results: Building a Pathway to Opportunity for All Children.
